What is DEXA Scan?
A DEXA (Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) is a state-of-the-art device that measures bone density, lean muscle mass and body fat. As we age, the risk of developing osteoarthritis, cardiovascular, and metabolic health conditions increases significantly. The DEXA scan gives you a snapshot of your whole-body and evaluates your risk of long-term conditions.
Here at Hudson we offer a complete DEXA assessment that includes both bone and body composition evaluation.
How it works
Here’s how the DEXA scan works:
During your scan you will lie on the bed of the DEXA machine while the arm of the machine scans your body, emitting two types of low x-rays that differentiate between bone and soft tissue.
The scanner then translates your x-ray measurements into pictures and graphs.
After your scan Hudson’s on-site nutritionist will walk you through your results.

Body Composition
Regular DEXA Body Composition Scans pinpoint the slightest changes in muscle and fat over time. Professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts use their baseline DEXA results to continually optimize training and nutrition regimens.
Bone Density
Regular DEXA evaluations are among the most efficient ways to prevent degeneration and take control of your bone health.
