Common Questions

We do offer peptides (including semaglutide) without the inclusion of DEXA scans, nutritional guidance, and medical consultation. However, as our primary goal is always to ensure the health of our patients, we recommend consulting with doctors before beginning any changes to your health routine—especially when those changes may result in loss of body composition.

If you’re interested in purchasing semaglutide alone, please contact our Hudson Life team for more details about our initial consultation process.

Yes. At the end of the first three months you will undergo your second DEXA scan. This scan will give our weight management team insight into the composition changes your body has experienced over the first three months. They will then consider your scan results, as well as your insights into how you have felt throughout the experience before determining whether a follow-up package is appropriate for you.

Potential side effects may include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation.

Our weight management medications include Semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic) or Tirzepatide (Mounjaro). Additional peptides and other medications may be recommended as well to enhance your progress. Your provider will decide which medication is best for you.
A glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) analog + FDA approved treatment method for improving glycemic control in patients with Type 2 diabetes and weight loss. It increases insulin secretion, which is good for controlling diabetes. At higher doses, it can act on centers in the brain and help suppress appetite. Used in conjunction with lifestyle changes and a reduced-calorie diet, Semaglutide can have a very successful outcome with weight loss and lowering high blood pressure. Studies show that Semaglutide can reduce appetite, improved control of eating, and reduced food cravings in addition to improved glycemic control. Hudson Health Offers Medical Weight Management through Semaglutide (Wegovy, Ozempic) or Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) through two channels (below). In addition, you may also be introduced to other peptides and supplements to achieve the most optimal results.
Many patients can see significant and fairly rapid results, however like any medication results can vary. It’s important to note that weight loss outcomes may depend on various factors, including your starting weight, lifestyle choices, dietary habits, physical activity levels, and individual response to the medication. Some individuals may achieve greater weight loss, while others may experience more modest results. Contemporary clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of semaglutide have demonstrated anywhere from 6% to 22.5% weight loss over a 28 week period, when added to lifestyle modifications.
The most common side effects of Semaglutide include nausea, reflux, or constipation. Most of these side effects are transient as one is adjusting to a dose. Although rare, serious side effects are possible—such as allergic reactions. If you are concerned about this drug’s risks or side effects, speak to your provider during a consultation.
If you are experiencing mild side effects, you may be getting acclimated to the medication. If side effects persist or you are experiencing discomfort, feel free to call our team or email us for clinical support. Your provider may decide to adjust your dosage based on your tolerance. If you are experiencing serious side effects, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.
Your specific dosage will be provided by your clinical provider during your consultation. Injections will be self-administered by you to your abdomen region. We will provide a video to demonstrate proper injection technique.
This depends on the dosage prescribed by your provider. If cleared, You will be given/sent 2 vials for the 3 month program which will provide all the medication needed.
Semaglutide injections require a prescription. Because of this, semaglutide is not available as an over-the-counter medication.
Studies on Semaglutide for weight loss show that a vast majority of people who take Semaglutide—branded as Ozempic or Wegovy—gain weight back within a year of stopping the medication. This is why it is so crucial to follow your treatment plan AND commit to a healthy lifestyle to ensure long-lasting weight loss.
A DEXA (Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) is a state-of-the-art device that measures bone density, as well as bone, fat, and muscle composition. As we age, the risk of developing osteoarthritis increases significantly. The DEXA scan gives you a snapshot of your bone health so that you can incorporate treatments to help you improve—or preserve— your bone health. DEXA Scans also offer precise measures of body fat and muscle ratio and distribution. When starting a medical weight management program with Semaglutide, it is crucial to have a baseline measurement of your body composition to make sure as you are losing weight you are not also losing muscle mass which can become a serious issue.
Yes, upon completion of your 3-month program you are eligible for medication refills. However, we do require a follow up consultation every 3 months because your safety is our utmost priority.
