How Does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) Work?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves breathing 100% oxygen in an atmospheric chamber. Breathing pure oxygen in an enclosed, pressurized environment allows your lungs to take in a higher concentration, which in turn increases the amount of oxygen circulated throughout your bloodstream and stimulates a wide range of health benefits.
  •  Increased oxygen levels circulating to injured tissues facilitate healing and reduce inflammation
  • Increased oxygen levels help combat infections caused by bacteria and micro-organisms that thrive in low oxygen environments.
  • Increased oxygen levels promote the formation of new blood vessels to support tissue regeneration and facilitate the delivery of nutrients.

Some patients experience increased pressure in their ears and sinuses, and temporary changes to vision during treatment. Though rare, some patients do experience oxygen toxicity, but our team follows thorough protocols to diminish the chances of that complication.
You should avoid this therapy if you have a cold or fever, certain types of lung disease, and have recently had an ear injury or ear procedure.

HBOT is not recommended if you are pregnant. We recommend consulting with your primary physician before receiving treatment.
